Our Approach

Lantern has a casual yet elegant food and beverage program run under the supervision of our own Executive chef Charles, whose exposure to world cuisine has shaped our kitchen. Our Menus offer you international cuisine with unique local flavors, a selection of mouth-watering traditional Sri Lankan dishes, tapas-style barbecue nights, with a team of Chefs who strive to meet your personal requests.

Our Organic garden provides fresh and nutritious vegetables, herbs and fruits, which we carefully pick and use as choice ingredients. Our experienced Chefs also select the best catch from the sea. We aspire to create an eclectic and changing variety of boutique wines and cocktails from across the globe, with fine spirits and liquors and cigars for the discerning taste.

At Lantern, we believe that food not only feeds the soul, but brings people together. We aim to create amazing culinary experiences for our guests. We believe that the best tasting most nutritious foods are those that are grown organically and consumed at its freshest state. We believe in supporting local farmers and fishermen, and our chefs hand pick the best of their harvest for our kitchen. Just as the kitchen is the hub of activity in any home, our fully equipped urban kitchen and open access pantry is set up for you to freely interact with our chef and staff, and even get behind the stove, if you wish.

Our menu has been tasefully crafted through a collaboration of Chef Charles Dissanayake successfull Sri Lankan celebrity chef in NY and our own Chef Sumith a master craftsman of Sri Lankan cuisine

We love creating family style delicious BBQs, as well as romantic intimate dinners on the beach under the glittering stars. We can even arrange interactive cooking lessons, along with a trip to the local market, or a walk down to our organic garden where you can help us pick-out the ingredients for your dinner.

At Lantern, you will find all this variety and more, coupled with our warm Sri Lankan hospitality and constant quest to satisfy our guests.

We reach out to the world’s food capitals to stay on par with food trends and believe in creating complex flavors and using the latest cooking techniques from around the globe. Our menus are seasonal and constantly evolving. Our Cuisine is global contemporary. Our a la carte menu has been carefully created with you in mind, and we are happy to cater to your unique tastes.
